Brittney Kajdacsi, CD(DONA), CLC
Brittney always knew she wanted to nurture others and help them see new and wonderful things in their world. Currently, she is a DONA International Certified Birth Doula and Trained Postpartum Doula, as well as Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). Before heeding the call to support blooming families, Brittney studied Ecology and Evolutionary biology at Yale University, City University of New York, and Fordham University. From her years as an evolutionary biologist, Brittney often interprets the birthing and parenting process in light of our human natural history. She truly believes that women are made to birth, and expectant people are made to parent their newborns. Additionally, her extensive research experience serves her well in critically reading the newest maternal and newborn health research to best understand her clients’ numerous options for birthing and parenting. With her emotional and informational support she strives to inspire confidence and smooth clients’ transition into parenthood.
Since 2014, Brittney has educated herself on Babywearing, Rebozo, Birthing from Within, Hypnobirthing, and Lactation Counseling (Healthy Children’s Center for Breastfeeding). Additionally, she has had experiences with clients trained in the Bradley Method, achieving pregnancy through IVF, pursuing a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), birthing as a teen mother, and managing pregnancy complications. Therefore, she is well-prepared to unconditionally support parents through whatever their birthing journey brings! In the next couple years Brittney plans to pursue a degree as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
Beyond preparing for births, Brittney runs marathons. All the marathon running has taught her the value of patience and unwavering encouragement. The mental and physical fitness is an added bonus in long labors as well!
